Gifts from Afar 2009 Denver Christkindl Market"Gifts from Afar"  from Kharkow, Ukraine:returns to the Denver Christkindl Market for the 11th time. Audrey Shaptala and his crew began with us at the first Denver Christkindl Market in 1999 and have returned each year.

Offering: Wooden Santas, hand-carved wooden toys, amber jewelry, lavish lacquer boxes and more.

Chef Walter Neuhold returns again to the Market. From Austria, he brings a wealth of international experience to us; he has cooked for Pope John II, Queen Elizabeth, former President Reagan, and numerous world leaders.  Now, let him cook for you! Enjoy his gourmet cuisine. Located in Fort Collins, he is also president of the Professional Chefs Association.

Offering: Salmon in several forms including smoked, Chowder in a bread bowl, various sandwich plates and more. Be sure to try his smoked salmon.

Serenity

Long-time Christkindl Market vendor Serenity returns for the 11th time. Owner Suren Shrestha was born in Nepal, 45 miles southeast of Mt. Everest. In his village people were healed by herbalists, monks and medicine men using shamans’ drums, gongs, and mantras. At age 15, he came to the United States, college, and earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering. In 1999, he began his own business, Serenity Tibet, in Boulder, Colorado, where he lives with his wife and daughter. He is raising funds to build an orphanage in his native village..

Offering: Himalayan winter products, hats, gloves, scarves, Pashina shawls, jackets, Himalayan jewelry, animal figure hats and other gift items.

Styria Bakery

Styria Bakery was founded in 2006 by Deiter Campbell, Claus Campbell and Peter Kaiser. Styria focuses on family and folk recipes from Austria to Colorado to tempt your senses. Their slogan ”Bread to us means harmoney between humans and nature," and reflects the harmony they try to foster with their clientele. Many Christkindl Market visitors will recognize Syria bcause of the 30 farmers' markets they appear at each week during the summer.


Offering: Austrian breads and pastries and artisan breads in an incredible variety including: Asiagio basil, Tuscan Italian, roasted garlic loaf, jalapeno jack and  walnut cranberry among others.

Cashmere and More

Cashmere and More is a returning vendor to our 2011 Denver Christkindl Market.

Offering: Scarves, gloves, sheet, pillow pets for the kids and shammy cloth.

 

 

 

 

Modern German Lace

elke pic 2011 11 07bModern German Lace is a new vendor at this year's Denver Christkindl Market. The company was founded by Elke Abate in Acworth, Georgia. She is the sole importer of Modespitze Plauen to the United States. Modern German Lace offers the best prices. Read the history of this well-known lace from PLauen, Germany here.

Offering: A wide variety of embroidery products (scarves) and lace (curtains, table cloths and ornaments) for any budget. This original German lace beautifies any surrounding.Will be at the market from December 5 through December 18.

Firma Frieder Frotscher

Firma rieder Frotscher joins us for the first time this year. Frieder Frotscher, an experienced vendor at other Christkindl Markets, travels here from Jößnitz, Germany to offer those items vital to the beer (er....Bier) connoisseur, namely something to drink from. Read about the history of Biersteins in this article.

Offering: A broad variety of original German Biersteins (many by Zoeller & Born), glasses and mugs for those who love German Bier. Also offering magnets.


Lekker Lekker Co.

New at the Denver Christkindl Market are the delightful holiday flavors of Holland. The Lekker Lekker Company welcomes you to enjoy the sweet aromas of our fresh poffertjes and stroopwafels as well as an array of classic Dutch seasonal treats for any age. Enjoy them with your family and find out why the Dutch say it’s so “lekker, lekker!”

 


Offering:

Featuring freshly made poffertjes and stroopwafels from original Dutch ingredients, spiced cookies (speculaas), almond filled pasties, Springerle cookies, chocolate letters, and other local favorites.

Bob's Roasted Almonds

bobs almondsLocated in Castle Rock, Colorado, Bob's Roasted Almonds was established in 2011. Bob & his wife Jena run the business along with the help of their two daughters. They have offered their delicious nuts at numerous events from Colorado Springs to the north Denver metro area. This has been an exciting year for them and they said "What better way to conclude our first year in business than being a part of the 2011 Denver Christkindl Market!"

Offering: Almonds, Pecans & Sunflower Seeds. All are prepared in a water-sugar-cinnamon-vanilla solution; there is No oil and No butter used in the process. All natural flavors and everything is gluten FREE! Their delicious nuts are roasted to perfection in a copperkettle imported from Germany where their great Bavarian recipe originated.

Real Insect Jewelry

The Real Insect Company are the makers and distributors of fine jewelry, paperweights, desktop decorations, and educational displays using REAL INSECT specimens! Our products are found in museums such as the Smithsonian and are all handcrafted due to their delicate nature. Each item is kept at 32 degrees while being encased in lucite to ensure a flawless, one of a kind treasure.


Offering: A variety of lucite products including bottle openers, key chains, necklaces, bracelets and paperweights and more containing insects that make interesting and unique conversational pieces. At the market from November 25 through December 15.

A new vendor for us but not for the Denver Metro Area as they have a store at Santa Fe and Oxford.

The Chocolate Sleigh

A new vendor from the Denver Metro area with a focus on Amish foods and crafts, chocolates and more for the holidays.

Offering: Hand painted Amish toy doll cradles and bread boards, as well as Amish jams, salsas, fudge and pickles. Also several varieties of hot Italian amaretto chocolate drinks, citrus and spice wassil,  mint chocolate, white chocolate truffle, raspberry cheese cake, fruit kabobs drizzled in chocolate, and gourmet caramel apples.At the market from November 25 through December 4.

From Golden, Colorado comes another new vendor this year. Farthest Star has been perfecting their products and participated in a variety of markets and events this past year.


Offering: Cookies designed for grown-ups with new, different, unexpected and delicious flavors. the secret ingredient is the use of adult beverages to enhance the flavors. Ask about their "cookie shots."
